The Triggered Traffic Blinker along with hooter for audible alarm is automatically triggered when an incident is detected by an Automatic Incident Detector (AID) System for example, a Video Incident Detection System (VIDS) or a Radar Incident Detection System (RIDS). The warning light can also be triggered if an incident is detected by Control Room Operator via an associated edge AID Controller. Its purpose is to warn motorist of impending danger & thereby reduces chances of an accident.

input received from an AID system (VIDS/RIDS)
Ø During periods of poor
visibility or other incidents, as detected by the VIDS/RIDS or TMC Operator, the lights shall go
into a flashing mode till incident has been resolved. The TMC operator has the option to turn on/off the lights remotely.
Ø The lights is powered by a local solar PV based power supply with inbuilt Li-ion battery with
at least 96 hours power backup and shall be interconnected with the incident
detection system over RS-485 connectivity allowing cabling distance upto 1.2
kms.
